Ceilidh Scottish Country Dance Club

The Ceilidh Scottish Country Dance Club was founded in 1982 by Dave Favel, Freda Jemmett and Jan Idour  as a breakaway from the Burns Scottish Country Dance Club.

It held its club nights in Otago Girls  High School, Arthur Street School before returning to Otago Girls. It then moved to Knox Hall and St Johns Hall.

The club meets on Monday nights from 7pm with an initial warm-up in the main hall before beginners and intermediate dancers used to  move to a separate room to learn a new dance. The dancers all join for about an hour before a supper, or a special treat brought along by of the dancers.
