Southern Connections has launched

As I write this, I’m feeling conflicted. The Hurricanes just beat the Highlanders for the second time this year. As an adopted Otago man, it’s tough to take. But as a lifelong Manawatū boy, it was a brilliant sight to see Cam Roigard diving between the sticks.
Anyway, that’s not what I’m here to tell you. After many months of research and chipping away at things in the background, the Dunedin Burns Club’s new podcast was launched this morning.
The podcast is called Southern Connections: Robert Burns and Dunedin, and takes a deep dive into the life and poetry of Robert Burns, and how our wee Scottish city down at the bottom of the world can find reflections of ourselves in those works.
Episodes will be released fortnightly on a Friday, and I absolutely welcome feedback and suggestions for future episodes. Click on the “podcasts” tab at the top of the page to listen to episode one now.
